Designed. Manufactured. Supported.

From everyday secure storage to high-security and purpose-built products, our South African manufacturing base supports customers locally and internationally.

Since 1984

History

More than four decades of safe manufacturing.

Traditional safes have been central to Mutual since its establishment in 1984. The business has grown around that core: a wider secure-storage range, custom manufacturing, service teams and specialist group capability.

Today, Mutual has seven national distribution locations, five of which are full-service branches. Port Elizabeth and Polokwane complete the network. International enquiries are supported from Pretoria, not a separate national branch.

Manufacturing

An established range. The capability to build to a brief.

Safes on the Mutual Safes factory floor in the final-fit area
The manufacturing floor at Waltloo, Pretoria.

Mutual's head office and manufacturing plant are based in Waltloo, Pretoria. Design, fabrication, assembly and finishing support products ranging from home, office and firearm safes to cash-management, fire-resistant, category and strongroom products.

Where a standard product does not fit, the brief can cover custom dimensions, interiors, locks, finishes and project quantities. Required ratings and supporting documentation need to be confirmed for the proposed configuration.

Manufacturing decisions also need to work on site. Product mass, doorway and passage dimensions, lifting access, placement and installation conditions help determine what can be delivered and installed.

Bring the practical details

  • What needs protecting and how the product will be used.
  • Required dimensions, internal layout, locking arrangement and quantity.
  • Any specified rating or procurement documentation.
  • Location, access constraints and required installation timing.

Exports

From our South African factory to your destination.

Mutual's export experience spans more than 25 years, with historic activity across Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Australia and the United States. Current product availability and destination support are confirmed for each enquiry.

The export team is based at the Waltloo head office in Pretoria. Start with the product and destination so the team can help clarify the specification, documentation and movement requirements.

Branch and international contact details

A safe or strongroom product needs more planning than an ordinary parcel. Dimensions, mass, packing protection and lifting requirements affect transport and handling; the receiving site needs suitable access, offloading and installation arrangements.

Commercial, transport, customs and product documentation should be agreed around the destination and each party's responsibilities. Confirm any destination-specific configuration or evidence before manufacture or shipment.

Useful details for an export enquiry

  • Product or intended use, specification and quantities.
  • Destination country and receiving-site location.
  • Required delivery timing and repeat-order needs.
  • Applicable documentation, offloading access and installation requirements.
